Ice Flower was one of the three strains in our Early Release Multipacks that were sold last year. Those 3 strains ended up being almost completely bought out by one of our farm partners, but we've still had a limited drop of each one waiting patiently on our schedule for a while.
You might be looking at the lineage for Ice Flower and thinking to yourself that it looks sorta familiar. If it does, you get a gold star for paying attention in class! Ice Flower and Terp Sneeze have the same two parent strains, with a couple distinct differences.
Ice Flower was created a little over 6 months before Terp Sneeze. While it's the same two parent strains, later filial generations were used and the parentage was reversed to create Terp Sneeze.
So Ice Flower was created with Sapphyre Pollen and Iced Latte Females, while Terp Sneeze was created with Iced Latte pollen and Sapphyre females.
They might share the same two parent strains, but these are definitely not the same strain. Ice Flower has a tendency to produce longer, taller branches, a more hazey/fruity terpene profile, a more "sativa"-like bud structure, and it has a bit more of a propensity to get colorful in late flower. It could be argued that Ice Flower is the frostier of the two strains as well.
Ice Flower is sticky and greasy and terpy, but Terp Sneeze definitly takes the gold when it comes to overall terpene content. Terp Sneeze has more candy and fruit notes to it as well, and a more golf-ball like bud structure.
Think of it like the movie The Godfather. The original movie is a classic, there's no doubt about it. But there's a lot of people that think the prequel, The Godfather Part II, is a better movie overall.
That's what Ice Flower is. It's a Prequel. A lot of the same things we love about Terp Sneeze are still there, right at home, with Ice Flower. But it's got a different vibe, and one could argue that it wins out on overall quality.
That's up for you to decide, though. Because literally NOBODY watched The Godfather, and then said "Eh I've already seen that one" when Part II came out!
